ARM processor support | Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader on Windows

Use the emulation mode to run Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader  

With the June 2021 release, you can run Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader (version 21.005.20048) in the emulation mode on Windows 10 devices with ARM processors. Currently, only the 32-bit (x86) versions of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader are supported.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows 10 ARM device running Win10 32-bit emulation supported version
  • RAM: 2 GB

Known limitations and issues

The following feature limitations and issues are known while running Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader in the emulation mode on Windows 10 devices with ARM processors:

Features unavailable in emulation mode

Applicable to both Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader

  • Attach or send PDF using Microsoft Outlook doesn't work.
  • PDF thumbnail previews are not available in Windows Explorer.
  • Readout Loud is not available with Protected Mode ON.

Known issues

Applicable to both Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader

  • Unable to convert a few Outlook messages to PDF (Acrobat only).
  • Adobe Acrobat or Reader icon is not displayed in the context menu (right-click dropdown).
  • Slow application performance in some workflows.
  • Minor flickering with a few drop-down menu items.
  • Administrative Install Point (AIP) package creation and update for Acrobat and Acrobat Reader fail. As a workaround, create an AIP package on an Intel device and then deploy it on ARM devices.

Are legacy or other versions compatible?

No. Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader before version 21.005.20048 are not supported on Windows devices with ARM processors. Also, support is unavailable for Classic versions of Acrobat - Acrobat 2017 and Acrobat 2020.
