Adobe Connect 12.5.1 Release Notes

This document contains details about the Adobe Connect 12.5.1 release, including release dates, technical requirements, upgrades, improvements, and known issues.

Overview

Adobe Connect 12.5.1 is a minor release introducing new features, improvements to existing features, greater accessibility, and fixes to known issues.

Release dates

Adobe Connect 12.5.1 will roll out in the following phases:

Hosted services:

Upgrades will begin on Nov 30, 2023. See Adobe Connect Downloads and Updates to determine the upgrade date for your account.

On-premise deployments:

Will be available from Jan 15, 2024.

Managed services:

Contact your Adobe Connect Managed Services (ACMS) representative, or private cloud provider, to schedule an upgrade.

What's new in Adobe Connect 12.5.1

Delinking controls for requesting microphone and raising hand

Controls for participants to request microphone rights and raise hand have been delinked. Participants will see a new 'Request for mic' action to request for microphone access. 'Raise hand' reaction will only alert the host about a hand being raised and will not trigger a microphone request. For more information on this enhancement, see What's New in Adobe Connect.

Additional languages available for Automated Closed Captions

The Automated Closed Captions will now be available for these languages as 'Beta': Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish, Korean, Portuguese, Chinese, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish. The host can select the captioning language from the room preferences menu.

Share system sound on Mac desktop application

Users on Mac devices will be able to share system sound when sharing their screen from Adobe Connect application for Mac. This feature was already available on the Adobe Connect application for Windows.

NOTE: This feature will only be available from MacOS 13.0 (Ventura) onwards

Enhancements to Adobe Connect Central Home Page

The new Adobe Connect Central home page introduced with the Adobe Connect 12.4 release has been enhanced to be more actionable.

Quick action options will be available for the rooms, recordings, and events widgets.
The home page will also start listing the rooms, and events where the user has been assigned a co-host role. Prior to this release only rooms and events created by the user were shown to them.
Hosts will also be able to view a calendar widget displaying the past and upcoming events.

Room access changes

A new access option “Account members may enter the room without host being present” has been introduced for meeting rooms, virtual classrooms, and seminar rooms. When this option is enabled, only account members will be able to enter the room (as participants) and access the shared content without needing the host to start the room.

Miscellaneous changes

Enhanced A/V recordings display corrected in mobile devices.
Quiz Pod – The Questions card in the ‘Show All Questions’ view is now clickable.

Patch for On-Premise customers

An patch will be available for on-premise customers to upgrade to 12.5.1.
