Bridge feature summary (September 2023 release)

Multi Window

With the 14.0 release of Adobe Bridge, you’ll now be able to open multiple windows of Bridge. Discover the power of managing multiple content panels within each Bridge window with this feature.

You can follow either of the given methods to open a new window:

• Select File > New Window
• Use the keyboard shortcut 'Ctrl+N' (Windows) or 'CMD+N' (Mac)
  

For every new Bridge window, you'll observe a 'Secondary' label added to the application title. This labeling allows you to differentiate between the primary and secondary Bridge windows.

Keyboard Shortcut Customization

You can now easily customize your keyboard shortcuts to suit your specific needs. Additionally, you can select a keyboard layout from a range of predefined options available for different regions around the world.

You can follow either of the given steps to launch Keyboard Shortcuts panel:

• Select Edit menu > Keyboard Shortcuts
• You can even use the default shortcut  'Ctrl+Alt+Shift+K' to launch the Keyboard Shortcuts panel
  

Use of Color coding for Keyboard Shortcuts

Color Coding helps in identifying Application shortcuts and Panel shortcuts:

• Purple-shaded keys are application-wide shortcuts. 
• Green-shaded keys are panel-specific shortcuts.
  
• Purple and green keys indicate panel commands assigned to keys with existing application commands.
• Application shortcuts function regardless of panel focus (with some exceptions), and panel shortcuts function only when the panel is in focus. 
• When a Panel Shortcut has the same assigned shortcut as an Application Shortcut, the application shortcut does not function when that panel has focus. 

You can easily create a new keyboard shortcut for a specific command using the Keyboard Shortcuts panel for Adobe Bridge. 

Compress (Zip)/Extract (Unzip)

Explore the Compress (Zip) and Extract (Unzip) functionality in Adobe Bridge. With this feature enabled, you can easily:

• Zip multiple files using the Compress (Zip) button
• Unzip files from zipped folders to the desired location using the Extract (Unzip) button.

How to Compress (Zip) files

You can follow either of the given steps to achieve the compression workflow:

• Select the desired files that you would like to compress > Right-click using the mouse button > Select Compress (Zip) 
• Select the desired files that you would like to compress > Select File menu > Select Compress (Zip) 
  

How to Extract (Unzip) files

You can follow either of the given steps to achieve the extraction workflow:

• Select the zipped folder > Right-click using the mouse button > Select Extract (Unzip)
  
• Select the zipped folder > Select File menu > Select Extract (Unzip)

How to change the configuration of the Compress/Extract workflow

Place in Adobe Substance 3D Stager 

With the latest Bridge release, you can effortlessly transfer asset files from Adobe Bridge to Adobe Substance 3D Stager. This cross-application workflow will ensure a smooth transition of assets that can be further utilized to build realistic scenes with smart tools and bring 3D effects into your creative workflow within Adobe Substance 3D Stager.

You can follow either of the given steps to place a file in Adobe Substance 3D Stager:

• Right-click on the supported file using the mouse > Select Place > In Adobe Substance 3D Stager
  
• Right-click on the supported file using the mouse > Select File menu >  Place > In Adobe Substance 3D Stager

Other Enhancements

Toggle caption in Full Screen View

You can now use the keyboard shortcut ’C’ to toggle the visibility of the caption (filename, label, and rating) in the Fullscreen mode.  

Export now supports the .jpg file extension

You've the option now to export the file in .jpg/.jpeg filename extension for export and workflow builder.
