File types

.ai, .indd, .psd, .dn, and .xd

Library folders, fonts, and colors

.jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .svg

When you paste the public link of the Creative Cloud asset you want to share in the message box, a preview of the corresponding asset is displayed.

With public sharing, recipients get read-only access to your assets, which means they cannot upload, update, or delete them. To learn how to create a public link to a Creative Cloud asset, see Share Creative Cloud files, libraries, prototypes, and more.

To ensure that your team is updated with progress and activity on your Creative Cloud files, subscribe a link to a Creative Cloud file in a channel. The bot then notifies your channel members about comments and updates that happen on the subscribed link.

  1. Go to the channel where you want to collaborate.

  2. Type /adobe-subscribe followed by the link for your file, and press Enter.

Subscribe a channel to a link

All members of a channel receive a notification on the channel whenever a comment has been made, resolved, or when the link has been updated.

    Note:

To reply to the comments directly from Slack, go to the Creative Cloud bot and respond there directly.

Link subscription limitations you should know about

  • You can only subscribe links to XD files and files stored in Creative Cloud assets.
  • Non-owners cannot subscribe a link to a channel.
  • Subscription pauses when the link owner is signed out of the Creative Cloud for Slack app. They should reauthenticate to enable the activity stream feature again.
  • The channel doesn't receive notifications for the comments and activities by the link owner.

Manage channel and bot notifications

Notifications are enabled by default, but you can manage them. Only link owners can change notification settings for a link subscribed to a channel.

  1. Go to the Creative Cloud bot or a channel for which you want to control notifications.

  2. Type in /adobe-manage, and press Enter.

  3. Select the link for which you want to manage notifications.

    Note:

When managing notifications for the Creative Cloud bot, you do not see the option to select a link.

  4. To turn off comments and events notifications, select Select Off from the drop-down.

You can turn them on again later by selecting On.

Grant access to your private XD links from Slack

Grant access to password-protected XD links

  1. Open the channel that has the subscription link.

  2. Type /adobe-manage in the message box, and press Enter.

The Creative Cloud bot sends messages directly to you whenever comments are left on links to Adobe XD prototypes and design specs, Creative Cloud Files, and Document Cloud files.

Who receives notifications?

  • The asset owner receives notifications when reviewers add comments, modify comments, or reply to comments.
  • Other users who are part of that thread or have been mentioned using @ will receive notifications.
Notifications for comments left on Document Cloud links

Notifications are enabled by default. You can manage notifications by typing /adobe-manage in the Creative Cloud bot.

Note:

The Creative Cloud for Slack app also supports French, German, Japanese, and Spanish languages. The Adobe Creative Cloud bot responds to your preferred Slack language.

Respond to comments directly from Slack

When someone mentions your name or comments on a shared file, you can respond to the comment directly from Slack via a thread. Use threads when someone asks a question you know the exact answer to, without the need to open up the link.

Note:

Currently, this feature in not available in the channel where a link has been subscribed. Once you install the app, you can start a thread to respond to comments in the bot.

Start a thread to respond to comments

Follow these steps to start or reply to a thread:

  1. Hover over the message or file for you want to reply to.

  2. Select the Reply in thread.

A pane appears on the right.

    Start a thread

    Note:

You see the option Reply to thread for a thread that has already been started.

  3. Type your message, and select Send. A new thread gets created.

Your comment gets synced to your linked file as well.

    Note:

Currently, only text comments are supported. Rich text formatting and media comments appear as plain text in the comments.

If you're logged out, you need to reauthenticate your account first. Select Sign in, when prompted in the Adobe Creative Cloud channel, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Sharing private XD links with collaborators

To share a private XD link, paste it in the message box of the individual or a channel and press Enter. You can also share password protected private XD links. The recipients of these links have to enter a password to access the link.

Password protected private link

When you send a private XD link, the bot notifies you about how many members in the channel were added as reviewers to the private XD link from XD web app when it was created. It also prompts you to invite the remaining members of the channel to collaborate on the link. To invite the remaining members, select Yes, invite the channel, otherwise select No. If you select yes, the invited members are added as reviewers on your private XD link.
