Achieve flawless photo editing with Heal tool in Lightroom

Learn how to remove distractions in a photo using the Heal tool in Lightroom.

The Heal tool helps remove unwanted elements and imperfections from photos - like stray hair, blemishes, or distracting objects in the background. Unlike traditional editing methods that involve complex cloning or healing processes, the Heal tool simplifies photo correction while preserving the integrity of the image.

The Heal tool borrows texture from a source area and matches it to the color and tone of the target area in the photo.

Use the Heal tool in Lightroom to improve textures

Open the photo that you want to edit and select the Remove tool icon.

  1. Select the Heal icon and adjust the brush intensity using the following sliders:

    • Size - Adjusts the size and brush diameter.
