Creative Cloud desktop app displays a black screen at sign-in

The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app displays a black screen at sign-in. This behavior can occur for many reasons, such as faulty applications, outdated drivers, or malware infections. Try the solutions below to resolve the issue. Move to a subsequent solution only if a previous one doesn't fix the issue.

Solution 1: Remove the OPM.db file

  1. Quit Creative Cloud in Task Manager (Press Ctrl + ALT + Del to open Task Manager).

  2. Remove the OPM.db file from C:\Users\{user_name}\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\.

  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\ACC\.

  4. Right-click Creative Cloud.exe and choose Properties.

  5. On the Compatibility tab, check Run in 256 colors and select Apply.

  6. Sign in to the Creative Cloud desktop app with your Adobe ID and password.

  7. Close the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  8. Remove the check for Run in 256 colors from the Compatibility tab under Properties.

Solution 2: Run Creative Cloud in safe mode

  1. Start your computer in Safe mode with networking following the steps for your operating system:

  2. Sign in to the Creative Cloud desktop app with your Adobe ID and password.

  3. Restart your device.
