Feature Restricted Licensing - Online | Manage devices

Applies to enterprise.

View devices on Admin Console

View the list of devices on which the specific product entitlement is deployed:

  1. Sign into the Admin Console and navigate to the Products tab.

  2. Navigate to the product entitlement that you selected when creating the package, select your product profile in the Product profile section and proceed to the Devices tab.

Search for devices

Search for devices by device name of device ID.

You can also filter the device list by: All devices, activated devices, or blocked devices, and then search for a device within the filtered list.

Block devices

By default, when you install a package on a device, the device is activated. This implies that the product entitlement selected when you create the package is available for use by the signed-in user on that device.

As the admin, you can choose to block a device, which then ensures that the products and services are unavailable on that device. This also frees up the license (reduces the used license count by 1) and makes it available to be assigned.

  1. In the list of devices, select the checkbox against one or more devices and select Block in the Device options menu.

  2. Click Device options in the upper-right corner and click Block.

  3. When prompted, click Block devices to confirm.

After you block a device, the user on that device will no longer have access to the apps or services of the specific Product entitlement.

Note

If, when creating the package, you select two or more product entitlements, you may choose to deactivate the device from each product entitlement separately.

Remove devices

After blocking a device, you can choose to remove the device. This removes the device from the blocked list. It will not increment the activation count but it frees up the device to be reused. If the user on the device relaunches it, the app will allow access as long as it isn't an over-activation scenario (applicable for non-ETLA contracts).

  1. In the list of devices, select the checkbox against one or more devices and select Remove in the Device options menu.

  2. Click Device options in the upper-right corner and click Remove.

  3. When prompted, click Remove devices to confirm.

Activate devices

You can choose to activate devices that you previously blocked to allow the users to access the apps and services available for that product entitlement. This also increases the used license count by 1.

  1. In the list of devices, select the checkbox against one or more devices and select Activate in the Device options menu.

  2. Click Device options in the upper-right corner and click Activate.

  3. When prompted, click Activate devices to confirm.

After you activate a device, the user on that device will now have access to the apps or services of the specific product entitlement.

Note

If, when creating the package, you select two or more product entitlements, you may choose to activate the device from each product entitlement separately.

Export list of devices

Download the list (.CSV) of all or the selected devices in the list of devices for an entitlement.

  1. In the list of devices, check the devices in the list to download a CSV of selected devices.

  2. Click  and then choose either to download the CSV of all or selected devices.

    Export device list

When creating a Feature Restricted Online package, you can choose to enable the devices on which the package is installed to send device information to Adobe. This will give you, as the Admin, the option to manage these devices. This means that you can choose to deactivate or activate devices on which the package is installed.
