FrameMaker March 2026 release (Version: 18.0.0.206)

March 2026 release of FrameMaker brings two key enhancements designed to boost efficiency and deliver a seamless authoring experience: an all-new book-level template for managing variables and conditional tags, and an enhanced search experience with the new Find All option in the Find/Change dialog.

Authoring

  • Greater than sign (>) is not escaped when converting a FrameMaker file to XML.

  • Wingdings font characters appear incorrectly during authoring in FrameMaker.

  • Copying content from a document with Track Changes enabled into a document where the feature is disabled, leaves <TRACK> tags in tables when saved as XML.

  • FrameMaker crashes when exporting a particular FrameMaker document to XLIFF 1.2 format.

Publishing

  • In the HTML5 output, broken links are displayed in the TOC when bookmaps contain the Yen symbol

  • In the HTML5 output, navigation titles are changed to lowercase when they include a letter-number combination followed by a colon.

  • In the HTML5 output, broken links are generated in the TOC when source document names contain spaces.

  • In the HTML5 output, broken links are generated in the TOC when style names contain non-ASCII characters.

  • In the PDF output, conditional content filtering based on default attribute values in DITAVAL files does not work as expected.

Translation

  • An incorrect translation is displayed for the LAST MODIFIED DATE label on the Welcome Screen in German, French, and Japanese.
