Design smarter with modernized artboards

Explore a more intuitive way to work with artboards. Add or duplicate artboards directly from the canvas, rename multiple artboards together, and easily spot the active artboard as you design.

Add or duplicate artboards faster

Select the   buttons on any edge of an artboard to quickly expand your layout and add or duplicate a new artboard.

Rename multiple artboards to stay organized

Rename multiple artboards together to manage screens, versions, or exports more efficiently, especially in multi-artboard files.

Spot the active artboard with ease

Illustrator now outlines the active artboard with a black border, so you always know where you are working.

Enhance creative control with modernized colors

Work with colors more precisely and flexibly across your designs. Smarter gradients and reusable recent colors help you easily apply and manage colors, all while streamlining your workflow.

Apply gradients using your existing fill

When you apply a gradient, Illustrator uses the object’s fill color as the starting point. This makes it easier to transition from solid colors to gradients and is ideal for shading buttons, icons, or shapes without reselecting colors.

Access recent colors instantly

Illustrator now saves any recently used colors to the Color and Swatches panel, so you can quickly apply recent colors across documents without creating swatches.

Find settings faster with search in Preferences

The Search Preferences bar in Preferences allows you to quickly locate any setting. Whether you're adjusting performance, user interface, or tools, type a keyword and jump straight to the option.

Experience a more accessible user interface

Illustrator has introduced the following accessibility enhancements:
  • Screen readers can now read and select previously inaccessible items on the Home screen and in the New Document dialog. They can also read document names, items in the menu bar and toolbar, and properties—along with their states and values—in the Properties panel.
  • Tab key lets you navigate within the Properties and Layers panels.
  • Cmd + F6 (macOS) or Ctrl + F6 (Windows) lets you switch between the Properties and Layers panels.
  • Option to turn on color contrast when Brightness is set to Medium Dark.
