Over 90 modern, real-time effects and transitions

Shape the flow of your story with a wide range of modern effects and transitions. Add instant attitude with earthquake, camera shake, glitch, flicker, distortion, or VHS damage to create scroll-stopping social videos.

You can also enhance your cinematography with atmospheric glows, blurs, and lighting effects that add depth and texture to your color grading.

For even more control, every effect is fully customizable, adjust parameters from scratch, or use the new Surprise Me button to explore fresh variations in a single click. And because every effect, transition, and animation is GPU-accelerated, your edits play back in real time the moment you drag and drop.

New animation tools designed for editors

Bring static graphics to life in seconds with motion effects that glide, grow, and sweep light across your titles. You can also add polish to social videos with smooth, professional motion, without spending hours on keyframing.

When you need more depth, turn flat 2D text into realistic 3D graphics complete with shadows and dimensional detail. And to make every effect truly your own, you can fine-tune transitions, motion graphics, and animations using curve editors, color pickers, volumetric controls, and custom blend modes.

Faster, more precise editing

As an editor, you spend most of your day in the timeline. That’s why we’ve continued overhauling it under the hood to improve interactivity, visibility, and speed.

Live audio waveforms stay visible while you drag clips or perform edits such as ripple, roll, or rate stretch, making it easier to align with the beat. You can also view keyframes and markers alongside the waveform while moving clips, helping you maintain perfect sync with important audio or visual moments. To speed up your workflow, create or adjust multiple audio fades at once, and benefit from faster waveform generation powered by multithreaded audio conform and peak file processing.

Snappier Timeline playback

In the last few releases, we’ve worked on scrolling, skimming, and UI refresh rate — and now we’re focusing on overall playback. We’re working toward (and measuring for) a specific goal: less than a tenth of a second to start playback – for every Premiere Pro user. We’ve already made a lot of progress here, and you can expect to see even more work on playback speed soon.

You can also toggle between different thumbnail display modes: Video Head and Tail Thumbnails, Video Head Thumbnails, or Continuous Video Thumbnails. This gives more control over how thumbnails appear based on your editing needs.
