Lightroom and macOS Ventura

Facing trouble while using Lightroom after upgrading to macOS Ventura (version 13)? Learn more about compatibility, known issues, and workarounds.

Which versions of Lightroom are compatible with macOS Ventura?

  • Lightroom 6.x is compatible with macOS Ventura (version 13)
  • Lightroom 5.x and earlier versions have not been tested for compatibility with macOS Ventura (version 13)

Are legacy/perpetual versions of Lightroom compatible with macOS Ventura?

No, older versions of Lightroom are not tested to work on macOS Ventura. They are not supported in any way for use on macOS Ventura.

Adobe does not recommend that customers using old versions of Lightroom upgrade to macOS Ventura.

Older versions use 32-bit licensing components and installers. Therefore, they cannot be installed and activated after upgrading to macOS Ventura. Although upgrading to macOS Ventura with an older version already installed on your computer may allow the app to function in some capacity, you will not be able to reinstall or activate the app after the macOS upgrade.

Before upgrading to macOS Ventura, you may uninstall the older versions as the uninstaller will not work after upgrading. If you have already upgraded to macOS Ventura, you can use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to uninstall older versions.
