The June 2025 (25.3) release presents new features, workflow improvements, and important fixes in After Effects.
Smooth Zoom lets you perform precise, fluid magnification in the Composition, Layer, and Footage panels. It is no longer limited to fixed levels like 33%, 50%, or 100%; hence, you can even zoom to any decimal value using the hot text control or scroll wheel for smoother adjustments.
Adjust the zoom during preview by using smooth zoom magnification.
To customize zoom behavior, go to Preferences > Previews > Magnification, where you can set the zoom Type, Behavior, and Trackpad Scrolling. Select Smooth under the Type setting for enhanced zoom control.

After Effects offers a convenient feature that lets you instantly locate your project file directly from within the application. With just a single click, it opens your computer’s file explorer and highlights the exact location of the currently open project file. This simplifies file management, reduces the time spent searching through folders, and helps you stay organized, especially when working with multiple and complex projects.

After Effects now supports NVIDIA Blackwell GPU acceleration for 4:2:2 video, unlocking fast playback performance. 4:2:2 video delivers twice the color detail of 4:2:0 with only a modest increase in file size, making it ideal for precise color grading, cleaner chroma keying, and crisper text rendering. Motion Designers using NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs can take full advantage of accelerated 4:2:2 playback.
