Ensure text accuracy and consistency with the help of the Graphics Tab for easy text editing, spell check, and find and replace.

About the Graphics Tab

The Graphics Tab in the Text Panel gives you an overview of all of the text in your sequence from both Premiere Pro Graphics and After Effects Motion Graphics templates. 

Make centralized edits to graphics without having to dig through the sequence to find specific track items. You can filter the view in the Graphics Tab by tracks and timecodes and composited thumbnails of the graphics on the sequence to enable you to find text easily. 

This view displays a thumbnail, the timecode range for each track item, and the video track number for each graphic. The blue highlight to the left of the graphic represents the graphic the CTI is currently over.

Click the Filter icon to filter text items by track.

Text from Spreadsheet Controls from Data-Driven Motion Graphics templates or Expression-driven text from Dropdowns in After Effects Motion Graphics templates are not displayed in this view.

Where do I start?

Once you have your desired sequence active, simply open the Text Panel and click on the Graphics tab.

Double-click any of the editable text fields in the Graphics tab to edit your text.

Check spelling

Before checking spelling, set the spell check settings.

Set spell check options

  1. Click Edit > Spelling > Spell Check Settings, or click ... on the Graphics tab in the Text panel, and click Spell check settings.
  2. By default, the default language is set to match the installed app language. To change the language, select the desired language option from the Language drop-down list.
  3. Set Premiere Pro to learn or forget specific words. These words are added to or removed from that specific language dictionary and are OS-wide.

Language options are dependent on the languages installed on the OS. macOS comes pre-installed with a good variety of languages, but Windows requires a manual install of most language packs.

Check and correct spelling

  1. To start spell check, do one of the following:

    • Click Edit > Spelling > Check Spelling.
    • Click ... on the Graphics tab in the Text panel, and click Check spelling.

  2. When Check Spelling is selected, Premiere Pro highlights misspelled words with a red underline. Right-click the underlined words to display a list of suggested words to correct the spelling quickly.

    If this word is a name or word that isn't actually misspelled in your context, then select Learn from the right-click context menu so that Premiere Pro learns the word and does not highlight it in red again.

Find and replace text

Use the Graphics Tab to search for and replace text in all your text elements. 

  1. Search for a word and use the Previous and Next arrows to navigate to all of the instances of that word in your sequence.
  2. Click the Replace icon and type in your new text. 
  3. Choose Replace or Replace All to replace one or all instances of the search term.
