Creative Cloud products launch in trial mode on non-English operating systems

Purchased an Adobe Creative Cloud membership, but launching a Creative Cloud application in a non-English language opens it in trial mode. Learn how to resolve this issue.

Non-English Creative Cloud applications are launching in trial mode

The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app defaults to your operating system's language. You can adjust the language to English by completing the following steps:

  1. Select the Account icon in the upper right, and then select Preferences.

The Account menu showing options such as Preferences, Sign out, and monthly generative credits for Gen AI features.
    The Preferences dialog box opens.

    Does your screen look different?

See instructions for the earlier version of the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  2. Select the Default install language as English (International) from the Apps tab, and then select Done.

The Apps tab in Preferences window showing details such as Install location and Default install language.
The Default install language has been changed successfully.

Additional information

This issue occurs if you purchased the English language-only membership, but the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app is set to a different language.

When installed, Adobe Creative Cloud sets the language to the default for the operating system. If your default is German, then the Adobe Creative Cloud sets the language for your Creative Cloud applications to German.

For details on how to check which Creative Cloud membership you have, go to the Adobe Store for your country. Select My Orders, Your Purchases, or Your Account.
