Error code C127: Unable to extract files

Error code C127: Unable to extract files

Error code C127 indicates that the installer isn't able to extract the zip file in the adobeTemp folder. This might happen due to a lack of disk space or if the necessary permissions are unavailable. Sometimes, even antivirus software can block the extraction process in the temp directory. 

Solution

Try any one of the following solutions based on your operating system.

Windows

Note:

The adobeTemp folder might be hidden depending on your system settings. Learn more about how to view hidden files and folders in Windows.

  1. Navigate to the adobetemp folder located at <Root Drive>\adobeTemp

    In the following example, the root drive is the C: drive.

    If the folder doesn't exist, you can also create the folder.

  2. Right-click anywhere on the screen, and then select Properties from the menu.

  3. In the Security tab, ensure that permissions for System and Administrators have Full Control.

  4. Turn off your antivirus software temporarily or allowlist it.

    Note:

    Make sure to enable your antivirus software once you've installed the app.

  5. Try to install the app again.

You can also free up some space, and select Retry. Learn how to free up storage space in Windows.

macOS

Note:

Open the folder where you want to see the hidden files, and select "Command"+"Shift"+"." keys simultaneously.

  1. Navigate to the adobetemp folder located at /System/Volumes/<Root Drive>/.adobeTemp.

  2. Go to File > Get Info, and then select Sharing & Permissions.

  3. Select system from the Name column. Ensure that it has Read & Write privilege.

  4. Turn off your antivirus software temporarily or allowlist it.

    Note:

    Make sure to enable your antivirus software once you've installed the app.

  5. Try to install the app again.
