Translate audio clips into multiple languages in a few simple steps.

Translate audio in Firefly allows you to convert spoken content into different languages. This means you can quickly translate audio clips, such as podcasts or speeches, making audio content accessible to people worldwide, whether for business, education, or personal use.

Before you begin:

Identify an audio file in .mp3, aac, and .wav formats that is at least five seconds long and up to 10 minutes long. The file must contain at least five seconds of continuous audio with audible speech and minimal reverb or background noise.

  1. On the Firefly homepage, go to the Audio section and then select Translate audio.

  2. Select Browse files and upload the file you'd like to use.

  3. On successful upload, the Source language (auto-detected) dropdown menu under Translate audio shows the detected language.

    Tip:

You can use the Source language (auto-detected) dropdown menu to change the source language.

  4. Select one or more languages you want to translate from the Translate into dropdown menu.

A video is uploaded and under the Translate audio section, there are two options - Source language and Translate into. In the Source language dropdown menu, English is detetcted and in the Translate into, French for France and Canada is selected.
Use the Translate into dropdown menu to select multiple languages for file translation.

    Tip:

You cannot edit the generated transcript. However, if you prefer to edit the transcript for accuracy, consider Adobe Translate and Lipsync APIs. Contact your CSM for more details.

  5. Select Generate.

    Note:

Before you select Generate to begin the translation process, use the balance indicator to check the available credits balance in your plan.

  6. Once the translation is complete, use the Language dropdown menu to select a translated language and review the content.

The Language dropdown menu is open and it lists all translated languages as well as the original one.
Use the Language dropdown menu to review the translated versions before downloading them.

  7. Select Download to download the translated version in .wav format.

Content Credentials will be attached to the generated dubbed file so that people can see that generative AI was used in the creative process. The file is also added to the Your media section and will be available for download for seven days. After that period, it will be permanently deleted.
