Learn about the Tip of the Day in After Effects and discover how it can help improve your workflow.

The Tip of the Day feature in After Effects (Beta) is your daily dose of helpful guidance. It is designed to provide quick, practical insights into helpful features, time-saving shortcuts, and best practices you may have missed or that other users commonly use.

Every day, the app provides a quick, useful tip that helps you learn something new in seconds. These tips save you the effort of searching through our guides or asking for help, making it easier to get the most out of the app.

The composition panel is open and empty. It has a tip of the day.
Tip of the Day appears when you open a blank project in After Effects.

This feature was created in collaboration with After Effects users who shared their favorite workflow tips and time-saving tricks. The list of tips was curated to help users of all skill levels, available in all supported languages, and is OS-aware, making sure that tips containing keyboard shortcuts display the correct modifiers for both macOS and Windows.

Each time the Composition, Footage, or Layer panels are reloaded or when they are empty, you’ll see a randomly selected tip. For example, you will see a tip:

  • When you open a blank project
  • When you open that empty Footage panel
  • When you close all your timelines to show an empty Composition panel

If you would like to contribute to the list of tips, you can fill out the details here.
