Learn how to share photos in Lightroom on mobile (Android).

Adobe Lightroom deeplink

Try the app
Follow along with any project to learn how to share photos.

You can now share and invite others to view, edit, and contribute to an album. You can also select photos which aren't a part of any album, share them through an invite, and request others to edit and contribute to the album. This way, you can easily access all your photos in one place.

Create a shared album and invite others to edit and contribute

  1. In the Lightroom tab, select the desired album from the drop-down list and select Share  .

  2. In the Share & Invite panel, select Copy to copy the link for the album you want to share. Apply the following settings to customize album sharing:

    • By default, the Link Access field is set to Anyone can view. This creates a public link so that anyone with the link can view your album.
    • Alternatively, change the Link Access setting to Invite only from the drop-down to create a private link that only members whom you invite can view or contribute to your album.
The top section shows a link with options to copy URL, QR code, share via WhatsApp, Message, or other apps. Below are toggles for allowing others to add photos and inviting people. The bottom section displays a preview of shared photos.
Select the QR code to download or share the albums directly with anyone.

  3. Select the Settings   to further change the following General settings:

    • Allow comments and likes: Turn on to let others comment on and like your shared album photos.
    • Allow JPG downloads: Turn on to let others download photos from the shared album.
    • Anyone can add photos: Turn on to allow anyone to add photos to public shared albums.
    • Show metadata: Turn on to let others view the metadata of shared album photos.
    • Show location info: Turn on to let others view the location information of shared album photos.
    • Allow access requests: Turn on to let users request access to view your shared album.
  4. You can also share the album link by selecting WhatsApp, Message, and Share icons for specific apps.

  5. Turn on the Anyone can add photos to allow anyone to add photos to public shared albums.

  6. To share an album and manage invitees, follow these steps:

    • Select Contacts picker icon to choose the people you want to share the album with.
    • Select Invite people to enter their email addresses, then select Send to send the invite. You can also view the list of email addresses you have already invited. Next to each email address, select Access   to set that person's album access. Select from one of the following access settings:
      • Can view: The invitee can only view the shared album.
      • Can contribute: The invitee can add photos to the shared album.
      • Can edit and contribute: The invitee can edit and add photos to the shared album. They can also export photos in JPG format.
      • Remove: The invitee is removed from the shared album.
  7. Select Customize title & template to apply the following settings:

    • Show title: Turn on to display the album title.
    • Show author: Turn on to display the author's name.
    • Theme: Select Photo gridColumn, or One-Up to set the photo layout.
    • Appearance: Select Dark or Light to set the background.
  8. Select Done  .

Note:
  • To modify the share settings of a shared album, open the shared album in the Lightroom albums panel and select Share & Invite icon in the upper-right corner.
  • If multiple people are editing the same photo, you can find all the different edits in the Auto tab of the Versions panel.
  • When sharing an album, you can now preview what will be shared.

View or contribute to a shared album as an invitee

If you have been invited as a contributor to a shared album, you can add photos using supported Lightroom versions:

  • You can contribute photos using Lightroom for mobile (Android) and Lightroom on the web to any shared album to which you have contributor access. If you're using an earlier version of Lightroom for mobile (Android), you can still contribute by using the Lightroom on the web link provided in the email invite.

  • You can view and contribute to shared albums even without a premium subscription. However, the album owner must have a valid trial or paid subscription for premium features to invite contributors.

  1. If you've been invited to view a shared album, sign in to  your Adobe account and access the album using the provided link:

    • If you received an email invitation, select the View album link in the email body. This will direct you to Lightroom on the web, where you can sign in and view the shared album.
    • If you received a shared album URL from another source, open the link and sign into your Adobe account to access the album.

If the album owner has restricted your ability to contribute photos, you can request access after signing in. The owner will be notified by email and may grant you permission to contribute.

    Note:

When you accept the invitation using the email, you can create or sign into any Adobe ID that you have. It does not have to be the same email address to which the invitation was sent.

  2. After the shared album owner has granted you access to contribute, launch Lightroom for mobile (Android) and select Done  .

  3. Select Shared with You to view the list of albums that are shared with you.

  4. Once the group album owner has given you Can Contribute access, you can add photos and videos to the album. Select More   near the album name and then select Add Photos.

  5. If the group album owner has provided editing access to you, you can add and edit photos in the album.  Learn more about how to edit photos in Lightroom for mobile (Android).

Tip:
  • When you select Add Photos from the All Photos view, you can contribute photos that are already imported into your Lightroom catalog.
  • If you choose Add Photos From Android photos, From Files, or From Camera Device, photos or videos that are not already part of your own account are imported into your Lightroom catalog before they're copied to the shared album. After these files are synced to the shared album, you can remove them from your catalog to save your account’s used cloud storage space.
  • You can remove any photos and videos that you have contributed to a shared Lightroom album within 48 hours of adding them.
