Follow along with any project to learn how to remove background people.
The Remove people tool allows you to remove background people from your image. The tool identifies the main subject in the photo, detects any unwanted people in the background, and removes them.

Select an image to open it in detail view, and then select Remove .

Select the Remove people tool.
Note:Lightroom on web analyzes the image and detects the background people in the image and overlays them.

Select Eye to show or hide the original image for comparison.

Select the person’s overlay if you want to keep them, then select Delete to exclude them from being removed.

Select the Remove All button to let Lightroom remove all background people highlighted with the overlay from the photo.

Once done, you can refine the image by selecting from the options:
- Variations: Choose from the different options that are generated with the help of Generative AI.
- Generate: Select Generate to generate a new background.
- Restore: Select Restore to undo the selection.
