We often receive requests from the community for more flexibility and options regarding which models can be used within our applications. We will continue to listen to community feedback and want to offer flexibility and choice regarding creative generative AI within our tools.
With this development, we want you to be able to select from a range of model capabilities and aesthetic styles and be free to use the model that best suits your needs.
In the choice of model partners, Adobe takes a community-first approach by selecting models that are aligned with your needs by offering controls and capabilities that you are looking for, at the quality level that meets your needs.
We are working on this and will have more updates for you in the future.
When generating content, you can select between Adobe’s proprietary models or a partner model from the Model dropdown menus.
We provide access to information on the partner models users can enable to use in Adobe apps, but it is the responsibility of the creator to decide whether partner models are appropriate for their project, taking into consideration factors such as the focus of the model, how it was trained, and whether or not it is safe for commercial use.
Please refer to the terms of service of the particular model that you are using as they apply here.
No matter which generative AI models we may give a choice to use within our creative apps, user content is not and will not be used to train generative AI models.
If we provide the choice to use partner models, we will be clear when partner models are being used, and you will have a choice on whether to use those models.
When generating content, you can select between Adobe’s proprietary models or a partner model from the Model dropdown menus.
Also, we have integrated Content Credentials into our applications to ensure they are attached to images wholly created using generative AI. Like a “nutrition label” for digital content, Content Credentials provide you with important context about the image, including whether generative AI was used to create it. You can review an image’s Content Credentials to find out which model was used to generate it.
No. You only need a Creative Cloud account with access to premium features, such as some of the Adobe Firefly plans.

To generate an image with a partner model, make sure that you have accepted the partner creative models pop-up confirmation modal that each user must review before they can use that model. If there is still an issue, you can check if there is a service outage with a model and the status for resolution here.
