- Empty layer : Add a new blank layer.
- Fill layer : Add a color fill layer.
- Type layer : Add a text layer.
- Adjustment layer : Add an adjustment layer.
- Image layer : Add an image layer from Photos, Adobe Stock, or device files.

Swipe left on the compact layer panel. Then, select the more options menu > Select multiple to select multiple layers.
Select at least two layers in the layers stack to group multiple layers. Select at least two layers in the layers stack to group multiple layers. -
Select Group .

Select More to work with any of these options as needed:
- Ungroup: Remove the selected layers from the layer group.
- Rename: Change the name of the selected layer group.
- Hide: Hide the layer group temporarily from view without deleting it.
- Lock: Lock the layer group.
- Copy: Create a copy of the selected layer group.
- Duplicate: Duplicate the layer group.
- Convert to smart object: Flatten the layer group into a smart object for non-destructive editing with Photoshop on the desktop.
- Merge group: Combine all layers into a group.
- Merge visible: Merge all visible layers into a group.
- Flatten (Rasterize layer): Convert a layer group into a raster image, simplifying it into a single, pixel-based layer.

Make further edits using tools in the Select area, Retouch, and Paint groups.
