Uninstall Adobe Premiere Rush desktop app

Learn how to uninstall the Adobe Premiere Rush desktop app on Windows and macOS platforms.

Note

As we introduce the next generation of Adobe Premiere mobile apps, we are discontinuing Adobe Premiere Rush. Effective September 30, 2025, Premiere Rush will no longer be available on Adobe.com. As an alternative, we recommend Premiere on iPhone; a version for Android is currently also in development. For more information, visit the Premiere Rush Discontinuation FAQ.

  1. Close Premiere Rush if running.

  2. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  3. Locate Premiere Rush in your list of installed applications.

  4. Uninstall Premiere Rush:

    • Click on the three dots below Premiere Rush icon.
    • Select Uninstall.
    • In the Premiere Rush preferences dialog, select Remove to start the uninstallation process.
  5. Manually delete the Premiere Rush folder:
    Windows: Go to C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Adobe
    macOS: Run the command ~/Documents/Adobe/

This folder contains additional files and folders related to Premiere Rush.

  6. Remove text templates (.mogrt files) related to Premiere Rush:
    Windows: Go to  C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Essential Graphics
macOS: Run the command /Users/[user name]/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Common/Essential\ Graphics

Be careful not to delete files for other Adobe apps like Premiere Pro.

Windows: Go to C:\Users\[username]\Creative Cloud Files\Assets
macOS: Run the command /Users/[user name]/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Common/Essential\ Graphics

Be careful not to delete files for other Adobe apps like Premiere Pro.

  8. Clear temporary files to free up space and improve the system performance:

Windows: Go to Settings > System > Storage > Temporary files and select Remove files
macOS: Run the command rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/*

  9. Reboot your system to ensure all changes take effect and any remaining files or processes are cleared.
