Fonts in Adobe Stock Design Templates
- All Adobe Stock templates are required to utilize Adobe Fonts . Creative Cloud users have access to thousands of fonts included with their subscription. The integration of Adobe Fonts in Creative Cloud apps eliminates the need to search for, download, and install additional files, while also guaranteeing high-quality, properly licensed fonts for users.
- When selecting fonts for your template, avoid using fonts from the Adobe Font Marketplace as they require an additional purchase on top of Creative Cloud subscriptions.
- For more details, see the Using Adobe Fonts in Templates guide.
Assets within Adobe Stock Design Templates
- Assets may be used only if they are self-created: Contributors must own all rights to the assets used within their templates and have all necessary licenses and releases to use the assets. Contributors cannot use any licensed stock content in templates. We also do not accept Creative Commons Zero (CC0) or public domain images as part of a template. This includes modifying a stock image so it’s no longer recognizable or using stock or modified stock for 3D textures. NASA CC0 images may be used for maps, globes, and textures if NASA is included in the title of the template.
- Adobe Stock images may be used in the thumbnail and preview images for the design template to illustrate how the template can be utilized by customers. However, only images the Contributor has the rights to may be used in the template itself.
- Our Stock Contributor User Guide Legal Guidelines is a valuable resource for more information.
General Guidelines for Embedded Assets
Do not submit content that does not belong to you, or incorporate photos, images, or other graphic elements that are not yours - this includes content found on websites, through online search results, content licensed from other stock sites, and logos/references to brands (including Adobe and Adobe products).
Assets embedded in your template file must comply with existing Adobe Stock legal requirements - you must have full ownership of the image and have the proper model and property releases (if applicable).
Review the Adobe Stock Account and Submission Guidelines to ensure you understand content ownership and avoid any prohibited activities.
Additional guidelines related to using images in design templates:
Text within Adobe Stock Design Templates
Adobe Stock design templates provide creators with design solutions that are meant to be customized to their needs. To ensure your success as a templates contributor, read on for best practices for setting up text in your documents and what kind of text you can include in your templates.
General Text Guidelines
Fonts must be from Adobe Fonts, including unused/hidden text layers.
Text must be editable , unless it is utilized as a design element.
Do not use personal brand name, Adobe, Adobe Apps, or other brand names in the template, or layers.
Ensure that any text within a template is spelled properly in the content and in the layer names.
Any placeholder text should use lorem ipsum and very generic names, streets etc. where possible. (see image below).
Avoid IP infringement - don't use real names and references to identifiable people, companies, and locations.
Mobile and web templates (such as UI kits, social media kits, etc.) meant to be used with certain apps and/or devices should only be described with referential phrasing such as "for Facebook" or "for iPhone" etc. for legal compliance.
Images/Mockups of objects should not include brand names. (I.e., using 'IPhone' with a smart phone mockup
Examples:
Names: John Smith, Jane Smith, Mary Doe, First Name Last Name
Companies: Your Company, Your Logo
Emails and websites: You@Example.com, www.YourCompanyURL.web
Phone numbers: 555-555-5555
Addresses: 123 Street, City, State 45678
Social media handles: @Username
Dummy text and paragraphs: Subtitle text, Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
Using generic text makes it clearer that these text fields are placeholders only and are meant to be replaced by the user.
Additional Guidelines to text in design templates:
Moderation process
Design templates are evaluated based on these criteria:
Legal standards: Do the files adhere to our IP and Legal guidelines?
Technical qualities: Is your template optimized for easy use and does it adhere to our specs?
Metadata: Are titles and keywords accurate and is the form correct?
Similarity: Is the content too like another Adobe Stock design template or something you’ve already submitted?
