Having multiple masks lets you enhance different parts of your image independently, achieving a more refined edit.

Before you begin:

Ensure the image already has a mask.

  1. On the Lightroom on the web homepage, select All Photos

  2. Select an image to open it in detail view, and then select Masking

  3. Select Add to make additional local adjustments to the same mask.

Mask tool panel is shown with the Add option highlighted. The panel also has options to Show overlay, Create new mask, and Subtract mask. The Refine slider is set to 50.
Select the Refine slider to refine the masks.

  4. From the Add to Mask using panel, select a masking tool to add to the parent mask.

    Tip:

Apply the new mask to a different area to enhance the image.

  5. Select Save.
