Illustrator (Beta) is available for testing and feedback. Try it now to experience new features.
About Illustrator desktop apps and their usage
Adobe gives you different app variations that you can use to create artwork, try features early that help us fix issues, and share feedback that will shape the future of Adobe products. You can run the beta app alongside the public release version app at any given time.
Adobe offers you access to beta versions to try various apps and features before general availability.
How to install Creative Cloud beta apps
For Illustrator, you have the following offerings to choose from depending on your needs.
- Illustrator (Beta) — Use the Illustrator (Beta) app for earlier access to the latest features, given that these features are still being updated based on user feedback. Outputs from the beta app can be used commercially but are not eligible for indemnification.
- Illustrator public beta—The public beta is available through the Illustrator (Beta) desktop app to anyone with a subscription to an Adobe Creative Cloud app. You can download Illustrator (Beta) from the Creative Cloud app.
- Illustrator private beta—Some beta programs are private and typically require you to apply for access, followed by approval from Adobe or an invitation from Adobe to participate. This is available only to NDA-tied users.
- Illustrator Prerelease — Similar to the private beta app, the Illustrator prerelease app is available to only NDA users through Illustrator's prerelease installation who join our invite-only pre-release program. Fill in the screening survey to receive an invitation to the pre-release program.
- Illustrator — The desktop app with polished features and consistent stability for the general public availability. Create illustrations and artwork for commercial purposes using this app. Sign in to Creative Cloud and then select either Download or Install to get started with Illustrator.
To ensure optimal experience and bring improvements to our products, Adobe may collect some information regarding your devices, documents, and interaction patterns.
When should I use the Illustrator app vs. the Illustrator (Beta) app?
If you need to create content for commercial purposes, use the Illustrator desktop app.
If you want to try new features and updates before they are available for public use, try the Illustrator (Beta) app. Once you open Illustrator (Beta), select the beaker icon What’s new in Illustrator (Beta).
in the Application bar to knowAlso, beta support and resources are provided through our community forum, so be sure to join the Illustrator beta community to get help, report bugs or issues, and share feedback or ideas.
The beta and pre-release app builds are the app versions that are under development and may still have bugs, incomplete features, or other issues impacting your workflow.
