Learn how to use non-Adobe models to generate vector files with the Text to vector feature.

When generating a vector image using the Text to vector feature, you can choose either a non-Adobe or a Firefly model. Once a model is selected, the corresponding generating settings and controls will be available for you to adjust.

Currently, the Text to vector feature includes GPT Image as a non-Adobe model for generating images.

Generate a vector file using GPT Image

  1. On the Adobe Firefly homepage, go to the Vector module and select Text to vector.

  2. On the Text to vector page, under General settings, use the Model dropdown menu to view available models for generation.

  3. Select Add next to GPT Image.

On the Text to vector page, under General settings, the Model dropdown menu is open and there are Adobe and Non-Adobe model listed to choose from. GPT Image is currently selected.
You can choose either a Firefly or a non-Adobe model when generating a vector image.

  4. Under Content type, select Subject to generate just a subject, or Scene to create a complete scene.

Under the Content type section, there are two options to choose from - Subject and Scene. Currently, the Subject option is selected.
Choose from the Subject and Scene options to generate a vector image that aligns with your visual needs.

  5. Use the Vector option to upload your own vector file, usually in SVG format, to edit, such as adding an element to the uploaded image.

The example below features an image of a toucan added using the Vector option. Combined with a text prompt, a cherry will be added to its beak in the generated vector image.

An image of a Toucan is added under the Vector field and a text prompt is added in the Prompt field.
Upload an image and use the text prompt to edit it, such as by adding new elements or making other changes.

    Note

The vector gets updated automatically with each generation. You can hover over it and use the close option to delete it.

  6. In the Prompt field, enter a detailed description of the vector image you want to generate.
