Learn how to edit text.

On the Photoshop on the web homepage, select Upload file and browse for a file on your device.

Select Type from the toolbar. Then, select anywhere in the canvas to enter the type mode.

Select anywhere inside the bounding box to begin typing the desired text.

Note

By default, when a type layer is created, sample text appears within a bounding box.

In the Type tool panel, choose the desired Styles and Presets for the text formatting. 

In the Properties panel under Advanced settings, fine-tune the line and character spacing by setting the Font sizeTrackingLeadingKerning, and Baseline shift.

Tip

In the Properties panel, you can also set character formatting options such as All capsSmall capsSuperscriptSubscript, and Strikethrough.                         

In the Properties panel, adjust the given parameters to enhance the look and feel of the text:

  • Under Appearance, set the Blend and Opacity.
  • Select Add effect to add effects like Stroke, Drop shadow, Color overlay, Outer glow, etc.

Select Done to save your edits to the type layer. Select Cancel to exit the Type mode.
