Homescreen
On the homescreen, you can begin by dragging an image from your computer, browsing your local files, or creating a new blank document.
- Upload file: Drag and drop images from your computer or select one to import.
- Generate an image: Create an image from a text description.
- Start from scratch: Create a new blank document for performing edits.
- Add from Adobe Stock: Select from a variety of free Stock images.
- Open desktop app: Launch the Adobe Photoshop desktop app from Photoshop on the web.
- Recent: Access all recently edited documents.
Workspace
When you open a cloud document, you enter the editing workspace, where you can access Photoshop tools, panels, and other options that will let you create breathtaking composites and retouch your creative work quickly on the go. The canvas shows the area where you interact with your open document.

- Main menu: Displays options to create or open files, save, export, layer, filter, file info, settings, and report a bug.
- Filename: Displays the name of the document currently open.
- Version history: Helps check the previous versions of your open cloud document.
- Saved: Checks the status of your cloud document being saved to Creative Cloud.
- Undo: Reverts the last action performed.
- Redo: Restores the last action that was undone.

- Zoom level: Displays the current zoom level of the open document and provides options to Zoom in, Zoom out, Fit to screen, or enter Full-screen mode.
- Open in desktop app: Opens your image directly in Photoshop on desktop.
- Download: Allows you to download your image in the desired format.
- Share: Invites collaborators to your document to edit, comment, or generate a link to share. You can even open the image directly in Photoshop on desktop and send your image to Adobe Express for further edits.
- Search: Allows you to search for tools and features you want to find in the app interface and guides you to the appropriate option.
- Help: Finds all your help resources and tutorials while working on the cloud document.
- App switcher: Contains different web applications that can be quickly launched from Photoshop on the web.
- Adobe account: Displays the profile information associated with your Adobe account.
Toolbar
- Size & position: Select to expand access to resizing and positioning tools such as Move, Transform, and Crop.
- Generative: Use AI-powered tools like Generative fill, Generative expand, Harmonize, and more to create and modify images.
- Adjust: Choose from several adjustment presets for applying edits or create adjustment masks to control Brightness/contrast, Hue/saturation, Exposure, Vibrance, Color balance, Black & white, and Gaussian blur. You can also use Levels and Curves adjustments to make specific adjustments and add a Solid color fill layer.
- Select: Reveal all the tools you can use to make a selection in an image, such as Select subject, Object selection, Quick selection, Magic wand, Lasso, Rectangular marquee, and Elliptical marquee.
- Retouch: Select to expand and access retouching tools, including Remove, Spot healing brush, Healing brush, Clone stamp, Lighten (Dodge), Darken (Burn), and Saturation (Sponge).
- Quick actions: Select to expand access Quick actions, including Background, Lighting, Stylize, and Auto.
- Effects: Apply creative effects like Blur, Stylize, and more to transform your image.
- Paint: Select to expand and reveal various paint options such as Brush, Eraser, Paint bucket, Gradient, and Smudge.
- Shapes: Select to reveal options to choose from various shapes, including Rectangle, Ellipse, Triangle, Polygon, and Line. You can even select Presets to create graphical elements in your documents.
- Type: Select to bring up the option to add a text layer or apply text styles and presets for text effects.
- Add image: Upload an image from your computer or select from a variety of free Stock images.
- Eyedropper: Change foreground color by sampling from any layer.
- Foreground color: View the selected Foreground color or choose a new one.
- Background color: View the selected Background color or choose a new one.
- Switch: Switch between the foreground and background colors.

The Contextual task bar is a persistent menu that helps you plan your next steps while working on your image.
It adapts to your current position in Photoshop on the web and dynamically offers curated options for your next steps based on recent actions. You can adjust the position of the Contextual Task Bar by holding the left edge and dragging it to a new position on the canvas.
