Generate videos from text descriptions

Last updated on Jul 17, 2025

Learn how to easily create videos using simple text descriptions in Firefly on mobile.

Note

This workflow applies to Firefly on mobile for iOS and Android devices. Unless otherwise specified, the feature functions the same across platforms.

  1. Open Firefly on mobile.

  2. On the home screen, tap Text to video.

  3. In the Prompt field, enter a detailed description of the video you want to generate.

    Tip
    • To include text in the generated video, place it within double quotes. For example, if you want the video to display the word CAT, include "CAT" in the prompt.
Generate section is open, presenting a Prompt field for entering text to generate a video and additional options like Keyframes, General, and more.
Enter a brief text description of the video you’d like to generate.

  4. Tap General > Model to choose from Adobe or a non-Adobe model.

    • Adobe models:
      • Firefly Video
    • Non-Adobe models:
    Note

The availability of generation settings like ResolutionAspect Ratio, and Motion depends on the video model you choose.

  5. Select the resolution from 540p720p, or 1080p.

  6. Tap Aspect Ratio and choose Widescreen (16:9), Vertical (9:16), or Square(1:1).

  7. In the Camera section, use the Shot size dropdown menu to specify the framing of the main subject within the videos.

    • None: Default shot size.
    • Extreme close up: Zoom in to emphasize minute details, often on a single feature like an eye or a hand.
    • Close up shot: Focus tightly on a subject’s face or a specific detail, highlighting important elements.
    • Medium shot: Frame the subject while providing enough context to the environment and surroundings.
    • Long shot: Include the entire subject within their environment, providing context and background.
    • Extreme long shot: Capture a broad view of the scene and show the relationship between the subject and the surroundings.
  8. Use the Shot angle dropdown menu to select from the available options:

    • None: Default camera angle.
    • Aerial shot: A high-altitude view, like from a drone or a helicopter.
    • Eye level shot: A shot at the same height as the subject.
    • High angle shot: A view from above the subject, looking down on it.
    • Low angle shot: A view from below the subject, looking up at it.
    • Top down shot: A view directly above the subject, looking straight down.
  9. Tap Motion presets to control how the camera moves within the generated video:

    • Zoom in: Gradually bring the camera closer to the subject, enlarging its presence over time.
    • Zoom out: Gradually remove the camera from the subject, reducing its visual size as the video plays.
    • Move left: Pan the camera horizontally toward the left side of the frame.
    • Move right: Pan the camera horizontally toward the right side of the frame.
    • Tilt up: Angle the camera lens upward to reveal the content over the current frame.
    • Tilt down: Angle the camera lens downward to show what lies over the current view.
    • Static: Keep the camera still, with no directional movement throughout the shot.
    • Handheld: Mimic the natural motion of a handheld camera, adding slight shakes for a dynamic, unsteady look.
  10. If you want to specify the visual style for the generated video, you can either write a descriptive prompt that clearly outlines everything in the video, including the desired style or look, or choose a style preset from the Style section.

  11. If you would like to generate a video that aligns with an existing video's outlines and composition, upload a reference video in the Composition section.

  12. Tap Advanced > Seed option to control randomness.

    Note

Entering the same seed, prompt, and settings will generate similar video results.

  13. Tap the Generate  icon to generate the video.

  14. Tap the Download icon to download the video.

Note

All of your generated videos will be saved in the Files page automatically.
