Insert or replace objects

Learn how to easily add or replace parts of your image with text prompts in Firefly on mobile.

Note:

This workflow applies to Firefly on mobile for iOS and Android devices. Unless otherwise specified, the feature functions the same across platforms.

  1. Open Firefly on mobile. 

  2. Upload an image or select image from the gallery.

  3. Select Generative fill.

  4. Tap Upload image to upload an image in which you want to insert or replace objects.

  5. Tap Insert and brush over the area where you'd like to replace an existing element or place the new one.

    The image shows a Zen garden with sand, a tree and a shrub and a pile of brown smooth stones. Using the brush tool an empty space is created to add new elements.

  6. Add a detailed description in the Prompt field explaining what you want to add.

  7. Tap the Generate  icon.

    Note:

    The brushed area will be filled using the surrounding content if no description is entered.

    Choose an image from the generated variations that best matches your vision.

  8. Choose an image from the generated results or tap More to generate new variations.

  9. Tap Keep to continue with the selected image or tap Cancel to discard the variations.

  10. Tap Export icon to download the image or open it in Adobe Express for further editing.
