Adobe fonts in Captivate projects

Adobe Fonts integration in Captivate simplifies font management and ensures consistent, professional typography across projects. Fonts are embedded in the published output, eliminating display inconsistencies and retaining the intended design.

Key Benefits

  • Brand alignment: Create cohesive designs for titles, headers, and body text that adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Collaboration-friendly: Embedded fonts ensure consistent appearance across devices and platforms in shared projects.
  • Fallback options: For users without access to Adobe Fonts, fallback options preserve design integrity.

How to install Adobe fonts

Users with an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription can install all Adobe fonts, while those without a subscription can only access free fonts. Learn more on how to use fonts in Creative Cloud apps.

  1. Visit the Adobe fonts website.

  2. Log in to Creative Cloud with your Adobe ID.

  3. Explore and choose either the entire font family or specific fonts from it.

Add individual fonts from a font family
Add individual fonts from the font family

The selected font family or individual fonts will be added to Adobe Captivate.

  4. Restart Adobe Captivate and open a project. Newly added fonts will sync after the restart.

  5. Installed fonts appear under the Adobe Fonts section in the font selection dropdown for any text.

Share a Captivate project with Adobe fonts

For users without access to Adobe Fonts, fallback options are automatically applied, maintaining design integrity. This enhancement streamlines workflow and ensures cohesive, professional-looking projects.

  • Share the project file (.cpt): If the recipient doesn't have the same fonts installed in Captivate, they'll receive a message about missing fonts. These fonts will be replaced with Arial as a fallback option.
Missing fonts

  • Share a published project: When you upload a published project (HTML or ZIP file) to an LMS or web server, the fonts used in the project are retained. All assets, including Adobe Fonts, are packaged with the project to prevent missing font issues and ensure consistent display for users. Learn more on how to publish a project in Captivate.
