Learn how to preview a project in Adobe Captivate.

Preview a project

Previewing a project helps you see how the content will appear to a learner. This way, you can be sure of the final output before you publish it.

  1. Open the Adobe Captivate project you want to preview.

  2. Select Preview. Alternatively, select File > Preview in the main toolbar.

    The project preview opens in your default browser.

In the browser, you can preview the project in any of the device form factors:

  • Fullscreen
  • Desktop
  • Tablet
  • Mobile

Generate device previews

Generate a QR code and preview the project using a QR scanner app on your device.

  1. Select the ellipsis icon next to Preview, and select Generate Device Preview.

  2. Scan the QR code using your mobile device's QR code scanning app.

    To check the preview, ensure you're on the same network as the device.

  3. If someone wants to view the output, you can share this URL. They must be in the same network. In the Device Preview pop-up, select the copy icon and copy the preview URL. Paste the URL in the browser and view the preview of the project.

  4. Scan the QR code using your mobile device's QR code scanning app.

    To check the preview, ensure you're on the same network as the device.

  5. In cases where you've updated your project, select Update on the Device Preview screen and refresh the course on the device.
