Powered by Adobe Firefly and commercially safe, Generate Video allows you to craft brand-new video clips. By using a mix of prompts and keyframe images, you can animate still shots and illustrations, transforming them into captivating video clips.

On the Adobe Firefly homepage, select Generate from the left panel, then select Generate Video.

Under the General settings section, select Firefly Video as the preferred video generation model.

In the General settings section, under the Model option, Firefly Video is selected.
Firefly Video is the default for generating videos with the Generate video feature.

Note

The availability of our generative AI capabilities, including those from the Firefly video and audio models, may vary depending on geographic location, user type, and regulatory requirements

Select the resolution to define the quality of the generated video. Different resolutions use varying amounts of generative credits

Use the Aspect ratio dropdown menu to set a specific aspect ratio for the generated video.

The Frames per second for all generated videos is set to a default of 24 FPS across Adobe and partner models.

Under the Frame section, select   First, upload an image from your device or Adobe cloud storage to use it as the first frame of your generated video. If you've already generated a video, you can also select Current frame to capture a specified frame as the first or last frame of your video.

When you upload or add a keyframe image that doesn't match your expectations or requires modifications, hover over the image and select:

  • Crop Image: If the keyframe image doesn’t match the aspect ratio, hover over the thumbnail to activate the image tools and select the Crop Image icon  . You can move your cursor over the preview and adjust the crop as needed.
  • Edit Image: If you wish to edit the first or last frame image, hover over the thumbnail to activate the image tools and select the Edit Image icon  . When the edit with text prompts page opens, you can easily add or modify the details of your image and Save it to get back to the Generate image page.
  • Remove Image: To remove an image from the first or last frame, hover over it and select the Remove Image icon  .
The Frame section has an image uploaded and the prompt bar has a prompt added to it.
Hover over the image thumbnail to activate the image modification tools.

Along with the image for the first frame, you can also upload one for the Last frame to conclude the video. These uploaded images for the first and end keyframes serve as fixed points, providing guidance to ensure the video starts and ends with them.

If you have added only the first frame under Frame, you can choose Motion under the Camera section to guide the camera's movement within the generated video:

  • Zoom in: Move the camera lens closer to the subject, making it appear larger as the video proceeds.
  • Zoom out: Move the camera lens away from the subject, making it appear smaller as the video proceeds.
  • Move left: Rotate the camera horizontally to the left side.
  • Move right: Rotate the camera horizontally to the right side.
  • Tilt up: Shift the camera vertically upward.
  • Tilt down: Shift the camera vertically downward.
  • Static: Keep the camera fixed in one position without any movement.
  • Handheld: Simulate the effect of handheld camera footage, creating a shaky or unstable appearance.
Note

If you add a first frame under the Frame section, the options for Shot size, Camera angle, Style, Composition reference, and Transparent background will be unavailable. Additionally, if you add an end frame, the Motion options will also be turned off for video generation.

Enter a text prompt in the Prompt field.

Note
  • A text prompt is necessary if you've uploaded only the first keyframe.
  • If you've uploaded both the first and end keyframe images, providing a prompt is optional. However, describing the content of these keyframes will help create a smoother transition, as the text prompt guides the transition between them.
  • You can also use the Enhance prompt option next to the Generate button to turn on prompt enhancement whenever you finish writing a prompt. Once you enable this feature, Firefly will improve your original prompt for you.

Select Generate .

Hover your cursor over the generated video, and select one of the following options:
