Combine different graph types

Learn how to combine different graph types in Illustrator to present complex data clearly within a single visual layout.

Select the Group Selection tool.

Select the legend for the data set to change its graph type.

Select the legend again to include all the columns grouped with the legend.

  • Select Object > Graph > Type.
  • The Type option is highlighted under Graph in the Object menu. Change graph types for selected data groups;
    Combine different graph types to present multiple data sets clearly within a single visual layout.

    Select the graph type, configure its options, and then select OK.

    Note

    When using stacked column graphs with other graph types, ensure all stacked data sets share the same axis. If some data sets use the right axis and others the left, column heights may appear misleading or overlap visually.
