Modify colors in swatch groups

Learn how to change colors in swatch groups to maintain the color consistency of your design.

Select the object, and then select Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork.

In the Recolor tab, select Advanced Options.

In the Recolor Artwork dialog box, select the Edit tab.

Select a swatch group from the Swatch Groups list.

To select colors from the Color Picker dialog box, do the following:

  • Double-click the color handle on the color wheel.
  • Right-click the color on the color bar and then select Color Picker.

In the Color Picker dialog box, select a new color, and then select OK.

The Adobe Illustrator interface shows the Recolor Artwork panel. The Color Picker dialog box opens, displaying a green hue selection in the color field and various color value sliders for HSB, RGB, CMYK, and hexadecimal input.
Use the Color Picker dialog box to edit individual colors in the selected swatch group.

To save the edited colors as a new group, type a new name in the name box, and then select New Swatch Group icon.

To save the edits to the original color group, select Save changes to swatch group icon.
