E-signature limitations
Last updated on
Jun 3, 2025
Learn about the limitations of the Request e-signature feature of Acrobat on the web.
The Request e-signatures feature does not support the following functionalities:
- Text tag field conversion: Text tag formatted fields are not supported. However, the Acrobat Sign template still supports text tag processing. You can create an Acrobat Sign template from a document containing a text tag and then use the generated template to create an agreement.
- Agreement level notes: The option to apply notes to an agreement has been removed from the interface and isn't expected to be reintroduced.
- Acrobat Sign template data download: The option to download the Acrobat Sign template data isn't available. To download the template date, you can either use the Create agreements feature on Acrobat on desktop or upgrade to a subscription plan.
- Access to legacy drafts: The Request e-signatures tool doesn't support legacy drafts. To proceed, either complete and send the draft or delete it. Alternatively, create an Acrobat Sign template from the legacy draft to use for new agreements.
