Get answers to frequently asked questions about using Adobe Acrobat for WhatsApp.
Adobe Acrobat for WhatsApp lets you open and work with PDFs you receive on WhatsApp Web, directly in Acrobat. You can quickly edit, manage, and share PDFs without switching apps. It allows you to:
- Edit PDFs shared on WhatsApp Web
- Share PDFs back to WhatsApp as links or copies
- Use Send to WhatsApp for fast, one‑click sharing
This feature is available worldwide in all supported languages. It works for:
- New Acrobat users using the free version
- Signed‑in Acrobat users with free or paid plans
- WhatsApp Web users with standard or business accounts
The feature is supported on WhatsApp Web on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
It’s currently not supported on WhatsApp Desktop, WhatsApp Mobile, or WhatsApp Business API.
To access the integration, you need:
- Access to WhatsApp Web on a desktop or laptop browser (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is recommended)
- An Adobe Acrobat account
- The Adobe Acrobat extension (Chrome or Edge) or the Acrobat app installed on your device
You can view PDFs and use basic tools for free. Advanced editing features require an Adobe Acrobat subscription. If you’re not signed in or don’t have a subscription, Acrobat prompts you to sign in or upgrade when you try to edit a PDF.
This functionality is being rolled out in phases and is currently available only to a limited set of users. If you don’t see the Acrobat features within WhatsApp yet, you’ll get access as the rollout expands.
Sharing PDF copies to WhatsApp is supported only through the Send to WhatsApp flow when the file originates from WhatsApp. Direct copy sharing isn’t currently supported.
