Sharing customized PDF Spaces helps you communicate with clarity and precision from the very first screen. By bringing together files, context, AI-generated audio and text summaries, and an AI Assistant—and arranging and tailoring each item as needed—you can direct attention to what matters most and deliver a more engaging experience across devices and formats.
You can customize the recipient experience when your content needs to be understood quickly and clearly, across learning materials, executive briefings, policy rollouts, or client-facing communications.
What you control
When you customize a PDF Space, you decide:
- What recipients see first
- How content is structured and ordered
- How content is consumed (read, listen, or explore)
As a PDF Space owner, you can edit and arrange items, customize AI‑generated responses, and choose how your information is consumed. It allows you to create a faster, clearer, and more actionable experience for recipients.
Key capabilities
Customizable Overview (entry point)
Build your PDF Space experience using editable content items. You can reorder or remove items to shape the flow and structure of the experience, rather than relying on default file order.
By default, PDF Spaces generates a headline, files, an audio summary, and a text summary. These items update automatically when source content changes, unless you manually edit them.
Editable AI‑generated content
AI‑generated summaries and responses are fully editable. You can refine the tone, context, and accuracy before sharing to ensure it reflects the intent. The audio summary transcript can also be edited to deliver a personalized message.
Multiple content formats
PDF Spaces experience sharing supports multiple ways for recipients to consume information:
- AI-generated text summary for quick understanding
- AI-generated audio summary with editable transcripts
- Podcast presented in a two‑speaker, conversational format
- Custom text, notes, and other content items
These formats can be added to the Overview page and activated during the experience.
Audio summaries are currently available at no additional cost for all users. Any future changes to availability or pricing will be announced separately.
Recipient engagement insights
You can track how recipients interact with your content without manual follow-ups. These engagement insights are available only in the Acrobat web and the latest Acrobat desktop app and appear directly through the recipient profile icons next to the Share tool. From there, you can view total views, see who accessed the space, check when they viewed it, and review comments or interactions.
Engagement insights are available only for PDF Spaces created and shared using the latest Acrobat build and aren’t supported for existing PDF Spaces or older desktop versions.
What recipients experience
Recipients access the experience via a shared link and land on a guided Overview page that immediately orients them.
From there, they can understand the purpose through headlines and summaries, browse content visually using file thumbnails, listen to audio summaries, or dive deeper into individual files. If enabled, they can also use the AI Assistant to explore insights or ask questions.
Additional formats, such as notes, images, and podcasts, provide richer ways to engage with the content. For safety and trust, recipients can also report abuse directly from the Overview page.
Limitations
- Block limits: PDF Space owners can add 1 to 25 items per Overview page
- Branding: Limited to logos
- AI refresh behavior:
- Auto-updates for unedited content
- Pauses after manual edits
- Deleted items lose prior edits
- Language support: Audio summary and Podcasts are limited to supported languages
