Open a file in Adobe Express and select Share > Convert to template .
Learn how to convert your file into a template with controlled permissions and brand style restrictions, so team members can collaborate to create on-brand content.
This feature is available for Teams and Enterprise plans. Contact Customer Support for help upgrading to Teams and Enterprise plans.
In the Info tab, type a name in the Template name field.
Use Select next to Location to save the template to Files or Projects.
In the Template note section, add tips and guidance for collaborators on how to use the template.
If you have locked elements in the design, you can specify lock permissions. Select the Locks tab, then select one of the following options.
- Users can unlock layers if needed
- Users with a passphrase can unlock layers if needed (Enter a Passphrase for the collaborator to unlock the layers)
- No users can unlock layers
Note: Lock permissions are applied to all the locked elements in a design. Read more about locking design elements.
To set style and content restrictions, select the Style tab.
- Color and font restrictions: Select either Restrict color choices to selected brand colors or Restrict font choices to selected brand fonts, then choose the Select button to pick a brand.
- Editor restrictions: Select either Remove access to Adobe media and templates or Remove the ability to add new layers.
Select the Review and approve tab to add review and approval workflows.
Once the template is set, select Convert to template.
Note: Select Keep a copy of this file to create a duplicate file and save it to your personal files.
Once your design is converted into a template, you can share the template individually to collaborate with your team or share the project where the template is located. You can continue to edit and organize templates directly in Projects or use Template settings from the header to make changes.
