Create images from a text description in a few simple steps.

When generating images with Firefly Image models using the Text to image feature, you can upload a reference image to guide the generation of new variations that match its visual style and aesthetic. Additionally, you have the option to adjust how closely the generated images align with the reference.

  1. On the Adobe Firefly homepage, go to the Image module and select Text to image.

  2. In the Styles section, under Reference, browse for an image on your device or use the Browse gallery option to choose one from the reference image gallery.

Select an image from your device or explore our reference gallery to find one you'd like to use.

  3. Adding a reference image activates the Strength slider.

Under the Styles section, the Strength slider is selected and it is set to neutral.
Use the Strength slider to control how closely the image variations follow the reference image.

Use the Strength slider to control the adherence to the reference image when generating the image variations. Sliding it to the right increases this adherence, and sliding it to the left decreases it.

  4. Under the Effects section, browse through the categories to identify the effects you want to apply.

  5. You can also use the Color tone, Lighting, and Camera angle to further refine the image generation.

    Tip

As you apply the effects, they will be displayed in the Prompt field. You can either use the Clear option to remove all effects at once or remove them individually.

  6. Enter a text prompt and select Generate.
