Learn what the Properties panel is and how it offers quick access to common controls for video, audio, text, and graphics in Adobe Premiere.

The Properties panel consolidates frequently used parameters and tools based on what’s selected in your timeline or Project panel. It shows you the most commonly used parameters and tools for the video, audio, text, or graphics you have selected. Use it to edit captions, edit your video (transform, position, scale, rotate, and change clip opacity), and adjust audio volume.

With the introduction of Premiere version 25.0 and later, many editing functions previously located in the Essential Graphics panel were moved to the Properties panel, streamlining the workspace and providing a unified location for clip properties.

One of the key advantages is that you can select multiple clips at once and adjust shared properties simultaneously. If all selected clips share the same property value, that value appears; if they differ, the control displays a dash, allowing for relative adjustments of all selected items.

The panel also offers context-sensitive access to other panels and tools. For example, when a graphic is selected, it may display quick actions to open the Graphics Templates panel or link to Stock Audio. When audio is selected, controls such as pan and volume sliders appear.
