Learn how to troubleshoot Premiere issues by resetting preferences in the preferences folder.
Before you begin
Back up your preferences before a manual reset, as customized preferences such as keyboard shortcuts, workspaces, and style settings may be affected.
Navigate to the preferences folder and rename or move it to another location.
Default locations:
- Windows: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\<version>\Profile-<profilename>
- macOS: /Users/<username>/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/<version>/Profile-<profilename>
When you reopen Premiere, a new preferences folder is automatically created with default settings.
