Video assets from Creative Cloud Libraries broken between Premiere and After Effects

Learn to troubleshoot issues with video assets from Creative Cloud Libraries that appear broken or offline between Premiere Pro and After Effects in Team Projects.

You could face the following issues when working with video assets in Team Projects:

  • Video added from a Creative Cloud Library to a Team Project in Premiere could be offline when the same Team Project is open in After Effects.
  • Video added from a Creative Cloud Library to a Team Project in After Effects could be offline when the same Team Project is open in Premiere.

 Font used in the asset is not installed 

Check the font used in the asset and check if the font is pre-installed on your machine.

Browse Adobe Fonts for matching fonts.

  • To add fonts in After Effects, select File > Add fonts from Adobe.
  • To add fonts in Premiere, select Graphics and TitlesAdd fonts from Adobe Fonts.

Color Swatches present in Creative Cloud Libraries is not supported

You could use colors available in Adobe Premiere or After Effects.

Assets need to be relinked again

Save the asset in your local folder and relink the asset again.

The best practice is to move the contents of the Creative Cloud Libraries folder to the desktop or any other location on your machine.

  • Windows - C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Creative Cloud Libraries
  • macOS Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Creative Cloud Libraries
Note

Take a backup of the Creative Cloud Libraries folder.

Creative Cloud Library service needs to be refreshed

Stop Creative Cloud Library service from Task Manager in Windows and Activity Monitor on macOS.

Restart the Create Cloud library service and ensure all Adobe applications are closed while you use the library.

Creative Cloud Libraries not syncing

Try to rename Adobe folders to “old_ Creative Cloud Libraries” in the following location:

  • Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Creative Cloud Libraries
  • macOS: Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Creative Cloud Libraries

Take a backup of the Creative Cloud Libraries folder. This folder is automatically created once the product is launched which user libraries.

You could try working with the video assets with a new user account. If the new account works, uninstall and reinstall Premiere Pro and After Effects.
