Open the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center and select Apps > macOS.
Using Microsoft Intune to deploy macOS flat package files and monitor deployment status.
You can download the package either from the Pre-generated packages section (Single applications or Templates) in Adobe Admin Console or directly from the Get started workflow.
To avoid validation errors, ensure that the PKG file is under 8 GB.
Before you begin
To use Microsoft Intune, ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Have admin privileges in the Microsoft Intune portal
- macOS PKG file (under 8 GB) is downloaded from the Adobe Admin Console
- macOS devices are enrolled in Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Intune Company Portal app is installed on target devices
- Required Intune app prerequisites are met
Upload the PKG file
Select Add > macOS app (PKG), then choose Select.
The Add app screen is displayed.
In the Add app screen, select Select app package file and upload your PKG file.
Microsoft Intune validates the file.
Enter the following details in the App Information fields:
- Name: Enter a descriptive name for app. This field can be pre-filled with package name.
- Description: Include relevant information about the app.
- Publisher: Specify the app publisher.
- Category: Optionally assign a category for better organization.
- Developer: Provide the developer's name.
Enter the following details in the Detection rules fields:
- Ignore App version: Yes
- App Bundle ID: com.adobe.packages.install
- App version: Enter any numerical value
Select the preferred deployment option under Assignments:
- Available for enrolled devices: Users can install the app from the Company Portal.
- Required: Automatically deploy the app to assigned devices
Review the details and select Create to save and upload the package.
After saving, Microsoft Intune uploads your package and sends you a notification. You can view your package after some time under Apps > macOS.
Monitor deployment
Open the Microsoft Intune admin center and select Apps > macOS.
Select the deployed app to view its status.
Navigate to Monitor, and review Device install status and User install status for deployment insights.
The time taken to deploy your package depends on the size of the output Microsoft Intune file and the internet connection, both at your end and on the machines where this package is being deployed.
