Assign product admins to products
Delegate product management by assigning admin roles through the Products section of Admin Console.
Product admins handle users, profiles, and settings for their assigned products without full system admin rights. This reduces system admin workload while maintaining access control.
The role applies to Named User Licensing in enterprise and Shared Device Licensing in education.
Before you begin
You’ll need:
- System admin role assigned to your account
- Active products configured in your Admin Console
- User accounts created for individuals you want to designate as Product admins
Assign admins to a product
Select the product you want to assign Product admins to.
Select the Admins tab, and then select Add Admin.
Enter the name or email address of the user in the field.
Select Save to confirm the assignment.
You can add up to ten admins at once. To assign additional Product admins, repeat these steps after saving.
The newly-assigned Product admins receive an email notification indicating the product for which they have administrative rights. They can immediately begin managing users, product profiles, and settings for their assigned products.
To assign the same person as a Product admin for multiple products, repeat this procedure for each product. Product admin permissions are product-specific and do not automatically extend to other products in your organization.
