Set the default email language
Configure the default language for system emails sent to users in your organization.
As a system administrator, you can define the default language for system-generated emails sent to users in your organization, including account notifications, license updates, and product announcements.
Setting the email language ensures users receive communications in their preferred language when their individual language preference hasn't been set. It applies organization-wide and affects all users who haven't specified a personal language on their Adobe account page.
How Adobe determines email language
Adobe selects the most appropriate email language by checking at the following hierarchical levels in order, using the first one it finds:
- User's language preference: The language users set on their Adobe account page under Preferred languages. This setting takes precedence over all other language configurations.
- Organization's email locale preference: The default language system administrators set in the Admin Console using the Console settings. It serves as the organization's default.
- User's country code: The language determined by the country code administrators specifies when adding Enterprise ID or Federated ID users. It determines the language if no other preference is set.
- Organization's country code: The language associated with the organization's country was established during the initial purchase. It serves as the final fallback.
Individual users can override the organization default at any time by setting their preferred language on their Adobe account page.
Configure the default email language
Scroll to the Email Language section.
Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu.
The language setting applies automatically to future system emails
For organizations with users in multiple regions, you can communicate that users can set their personal language on their Adobe account page to receive emails, regardless of the organization's default.
