Learn how to use the Metadata panel to view and edit the metadata for clips and sequences in your project.
When a merged clip is created, the metadata for each component clip is copied into the Metadata panel.
Before you begin
Create a project and import audio and video files, and assemble them on the timeline. Synchronize audio and video using Merge clips. Enable the Metadata panel by selecting Windows > Metadata.
- Select the clip you wish to view the metadata for in the Project panel. The Metadata panel shows all the details of the selected clip.
- To enter metadata:
- Set the File popup menu to the component clip you wish, and then enter metadata for the clip.
- Set the File popup menu to All Files, and then enter metadata for the merged clip. Any data entered into a property will be entered into the XMP for each component file that makes up the merged clip.
Result
The metadata for the merged clip is updated according to your edits.
