Try these solutions if Adobe Premiere Pro hangs, freezes, or becomes unresponsive while rendering or exporting a project.
Common issues
If you’re unable to render or export your project, check for known issues that may cause Premiere Pro to crash. Alternatively, you can force quit and restart Premiere Pro or your computer.
Your Premiere Pro app isn’t updated
Check to ensure that you have the most recent version of Premiere Pro. Updating the recent version will provide better stability and fix most crash or freeze issues.
Driver issues
Check if your System Compatibility Report is throwing any errors. Your report will indicate if you have any driver issues and if you need to update your drivers.
Naming conventions
Sometimes, file names can cause general performance issues, including crashes or freezes. Remove any punctuation marks in the media, the project file, or the output name.
Disk space
If you’re low on disk space, it could affect the performance of your apps. Make sure you have enough free disk space on the machine.
Location issues
Try changing the location where you’re trying to save your project. Select File > Save As to save the project to a new location.
