Learn how to group text and graphic layers when working with complex text and graphic elements.

Before you begin

Create a project, add media, and create some text and shape layers.

Grouping text and graphic layers keeps the Edit tab of the Essential Graphics panel uncluttered and is also useful when you want to create cool masking effects.

  1. Select multiple layers in the Essential Graphics panel.,
  2. Select the Create Group  icon at the bottom-right corner of the Edit tab of the Essential Graphics panel.
Text layers in the Essential Graphics panel
Right-click the selected layers and select Create Group from the context menu.

Result

The selected layers in the Edit tab of Essential Graphics panel are grouped with a default name. You can rename the layers as needed, or even remove layers from the group by dragging them out of the group.
