You can remove selected effects or all effects from a clip.

Before you begin

Create a project and add clips to the timeline. Apply effects to one or more clips.

Remove selected effects

  1. Select a clip in the Timeline panel. To make sure that only one clip is selected, click an empty space in the timeline, then select the clip. Click a spot in the time ruler above the selected clip to move the current-time indicator to that location.
  2. In the Effect Controls panel, select the effect or effects you want to remove. To select more than one, ctrl-click (Windows), or command-click (macOS) the effects.
Note:

You cannot remove fixed effects such as Motion, Opacity, Time Remapping, or Volume.

  1. Press Delete or Backspace on your keyboard.

Remove all effects

  1. Select a clip in the Timeline panel. To make sure that only one clip is selected, click an empty space in the Timeline, then click the clip. Click a spot in the time ruler above the selected clip to move the current-time indicator to that location.
  2. Select Window > Effect Controls.
  3. In the Effect Controls panel, select , then select  Remove Effects.

Result

Effects are removed from the clip.
